A couple from the Sheboygan County town of Herman is facing charges after several different types of animals were found dead on their property. Lisa and Jerome Doornek have both been charged with three felony counts of being party to mistreating and causing the death of animals. Court Documents indicate that officials received a complaint about a pony on the couple’s property, and when they went to the property, they pony was noted as having overgrown hooves. A follow-up showed that the pony was in even worse condition, and multiple other animals had died including ducks geese, and chickens. Other animals were found to be covered in excrement, and living in sub-standard conditions. Both Lisa and Jerome posted a cash bond of $2,500 on Monday, but Jerome is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, and Lisa will be in court on Friday.
