The Valders Fire Department was called upon to rescue three men from the Manitowoc River. The three men were reportedly fishing in their kayaks at around 3:20 PM yesterday when their boats became capsized due to the strong currents on the river. Fire Department crews were able to bring the men to safety. None of them received serious injuries, but one of them was transported to a local hospital for treatment for hypothermia. The other two men refused treatment. The Valders Fire department was assisted by the Whitelaw and Branch Fire Departments.
