The Green Bay Packers are taking a different approach to signing N-F-L free agents. Since general manager Brian Gutekunst took over the position last year, the Packers have made deals with six unrestricted free agents, five of the deals for more than two years. Compare that to the six free agents the team brought in over the previous 10 years — only one, Martellus Bennett, got a deal for more than two years. Gutekunst is building with ascending players, with all four players signed this year 25-to-27 years old and no injury histories.
