Manitowoc Lincoln High School sprinter Emily Dawidowich had a special day in leading the Ships track & field team to a runnerup finish in the 19-school Ripon College Indoor Invite. Dawidowich established a new facility high school record of 7.8 seconds in capturing the 60-meter dash. She also set school records in taking the 200 in 25.76, and the 400-meters in 1minute point 36 seconds, shattering the former mark of L. Polzin of 1:02 in 1979. Allyson Verbauwhede won the 2 mile in a time of 12:20.17 & Maddie Buchner won the High Jump with an effort of 5 feet 2 inches. Kimberly led the team standings with 102.5 points, followed by Lincoln’s total of 66, 1-point ahead of Mequon Homestead, and Green Bay Preble placed 4th at 60.5. On the Boys’ side of the Ripon Invite, the Papermakers scored 108-points, with Preble 2nd at 95….and Manitowoc wound up 11th with 13-points. The Ships best finish came in the 4 by 200 Relay where Marcus Miglieri, Jett Hecker, Brett Prange and Tyler Mrotek placed 4th in a time of 1:39.43.
