Fire In The Town of Branch

Several local and area EMS and fire departments responded yesterday to a large silage pile fire in the Town of Branch. Manitowoc County Joint Dispatch received a call just after 2:10 p.m. saying the fire had spread to an adjacent barn housing 150 cows at Branch View Dairy on Village Drive. Branch Fire personnel responded within five minutes of the initial call and with assistance from several entities were able to extinguish the fire within minutes. No injuries were reported—all cows are accounted for and no dollar damage estimate or cause is available. Assisting on scene fire departments from Whitelaw–Rockwood—Valders—Manitowoc—Francis Creek—Kellnersville—Maribel—Newton—Silver Creek and Wayside. The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department—Reedsville RIT and Wisconsin Public Service also responded on scene.
