In celebration of National Poetry Month, ten dynamic leaders from diverse sectors of our community will read their favorite poems. These individuals will be paired with ten local poets who have written original poems by way of a response.
The featured community leaders are Rachele Bakic, CEO of UW Green Bay/Manitowoc Campus, Kathie Bundy of Kathie’s Stage Door Pub, Theresa Collins, CEO of Beacon Consulting, Dan Hornung, MPU Commissioner, Mary Maurer, Community Director of Vision 2022, Christma Rusch, Director of Lighthouse Recovery Community Center, Pastor Matt Sauer of First Presbyterian Church, Stacey Soeldner of Riverhill Psychological Associates, Greg Vadney, Executive Director of Rahr-West Art Museum, and Darlene Wellner, retired social worker and life-long community activist.
All are welcome, admission is free, and refreshments will be available. All those in attendance will receive a booklet of the twenty poems being shared that afternoon to enjoy at their leisure. This program is sponsored by Manitowoc Public Library and Friends of Manitowoc Public Library.
