Marquette used a 23-2 run in the second half of its game against St. John’s to make sure a four-game losing streak was over and the Big East Conference Tournament title was still within reach. With Big East Player of the Year Markus Howard scoring 30, the Golden Eagles steam-rolled St. John’s 86-54 Thursday to reach the semis of that tournament for the first time in nine years. St. John’s had beaten the Eagles in both regular-season meetings, but it was a different kind of game Thursday night. The Golden Eagles play Seton Hall in Madison Square Garden next.
