Kohler Best Buy Store Catches Fire Overnight

A major fire in the Village of Kohler overnight.  The Sheboygan County 9-1-1 Center received a witness report as well as an alarm of smoke at the Best Buy Store, just after 10:30 pm.  Kohler Police officers and a County sheriff’s deputy arrived almost immediately and confirmed smoke was coming through the roof and that store windows were blackened by smoke & soot.  Kohler Fire officials then arrived and made entry to the building at 3600 County Highway A, and found an active working fire.  The blaze was deemed under control at 12:35 this morning and all units were able to leave the scene two hours later.  Numerous other surrounding fire agencies were requested to report to the scene by mutual aid.  No injuries were reported and there’s no damage estimate as of yet.  A preliminary determination as to the ‘cause’ of the fire revealed it was ‘not’ suspicious or criminal in nature.
