A 30 year old Manitowoc woman was taken into police custody early yesterday morning on drug charges. A police officer was on a patrol on N. 8th Street, when he ran the plates of a vehicle in front of him. It turned out that the plates had expired, so he initiated a traffic stop. The officer recognized the male driver from previous drug related arrests, so he called for K9 backup. K9 Neko then swept the vehicle, and was alerted to drugs inside, so a search was conducted. The officers located a baggie of Marijuana, some Methamphetamine, and some Gabapentin, which is a non-scheduled drug. It was eventually determined that the drugs belonged to the woman, who is now facing charges of Possessing Meth, THC, a Non-Scheduled Drug, and Drug Paraphernalia.
