Snowmobiler Dies in Outagamie County Crash

A snowmobiler died yesterday morning after slamming into a semi on Highway 54 near Shiocton. Emergency crews were informed of the incident at around 9:40 AM, and were sent to Highway 54 near the intersection with Old 54 Road. According to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol, the semi was traveling east on 54, while the snowmobile was heading north on a trail. The snowmobiler failed to yield to the posted stop sign, and attempted to cross the highway, and hit the trailer of the semi. While the semi driver remained uninjured, the snowmobiler sustained fatal injuries. The names of those involved are not being released at this time.
