The Sweet 16 round of the WIAA Girls Basketball Tournament will be played tonight. In Division-4, The Mishicot Indians take to the court at Kohler High School for a Sectional semifinal contest with Howards Grove. The Tigers handed Mishicot its’ only loss in Big East Conference play, 50-39, in early December. In Division-3: Kiel will meet Kewaunee at Denmark. The Raiders dropped their first 3 games of the regular season to strong non-conference opponents, before righting the ship. The Storm’s only defeat came to non-league foe, Wrightstown, in early January.
The Mishicot-Howards Grove game will be broadcast live on 1240 AM WOMT & womtradio.com while the Kiel-Kewaunee matchup can be heard on AM 980 WCUB & cubradio.com. Airtime is 6:45 at both locations.
Looking at other Girls Sectional semifinal games of local & area interest: Hilbert faces Hustisford at West Bend East in Division-5, and in D-1 Bay Port meets Germantown at Sheboygan North.
