Parents all over the nation are panicking over an online trend called the “Momo Challenge”. The way the challenge works is kids allegedly text a specific phone number on the text app “WhatsApp”, and “Momo” would respond by pressuring them into performing tasks and sending photographic evidence. Then “Momo” would eventually convince them to hurt or kill themselves. A photo of a creepy looking woman is often associated with the “challenge”. While this is a scary story, many of the reports surrounding the case are unverified. Rumors swirled that “Momo” was tied to the suicide deaths of several teens throughout the world, but no solid links were ever found. While it is always important for parents to monitor their children’s online activity, There is little to no evidence that the “Momo Challenge” is a legitimate risk to your child.
