In 2018, the “Car in Gear, Brain in Gear” educational and enforcement traffic program held by the Sheboygan Police Department resulted in a 3.4% decrease in accidents from 1736 to 1677. In an effort to continue this downward trend the Sheboygan Police Department has planned to release a traffic safety or crash reduction tip each week to their social media users. Fellow motorists can help continue the decrease in accidents. The SPD is hoping that these tips will assist with reducing the reader’s probability of being involved in an accident. They will also provide updates monthly on where the community stands in regards to the number of accidents reported thus far this year.
