Repeated complaints from parents and a former coach have led Kenosha Tremper High School to end a questionable list of cheerleading awards. The A-C-L-U had threatened to sue. Coaches have given out the awards each year to recognize the hardest-working or most-improved cheerleaders — but they also gave gag awards called “Big Boobie,” “String Bean,” and others. String Bean went to the squad’s thinnest member. A school official initially said the coaches were “just joking around,” but later decided to do away with the practice.
