Two Area Law enforcement organizations, including the Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit, are receiving State Grant money. With the ongoing battle against the opioid epidemic and use of meth on the rise a million dollars approved by the legislature last session to fight drug trafficking is going to local groups. $50-thousand dollars is being given to both Manitowoc County Metro Drug, along with the Lake Winnebago Area MEG Unit, which covers Calumet, Fond du Lac, Outagamie and Winnebago Counties. Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul made the announcement yesterday at the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office in Appleton.
