It is a fact of life that as we get older, we will eventually begin to need help doing certain tasks. Lynn Scheinoha and Lisa Van Remortel from the Aging and Disabilities Resource Center told us that some people will end up in an assisted living home, but more and more people are choosing to live with their aging loved ones and help them with their day to day tasks.
That is where the Resource Center comes into place. Some of the stress that comes along with caring for an ailing loved one relates directly to the financial aspect.
These include in-home help, respite care, adult day services, and transportation. Not only does the ADRC offer assistance for aiding your loved one, but they also offer a way for you to take care of yourself in the process.
The ARDC is located at 1701 Michigan Avenue in Manitowoc. If you have any questions on any programs they offer, you can reach Department Director Cathy Ley at 1-877-416-7083 between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
