Michelle Gritzmacher-Ring made an initial appearance in Eau Claire County Circuit Court Tuesday. Investigators say she pushed her 66-year-old mother out of her wheelchair and punched her in the back last weekend. The two women were arguing about the daughter’s drinking. The suspect’s boyfriend, who lives with the two women in the victim’s home, confirmed the assault. Gritzmacher-Ring could be sentenced to up to four years in prison if she is convicted. She is charged with felony counts of aggravated battery of an elderly person and battery to a police officer, and misdemeanor counts of resisting an officer, disorderly conduct, intimidation of a victim and bail jumping.
