ThedaCare Restricting Visits Due to Number of Influenza Cases Increasing

ThedaCare is restricting visitors to all seven of their hospitals due to the number of influenza cases increasing. The main focus of the restriction aims at children under the age of 12, who temporarily cannot visit their parents at their locations in Appleton, Berlin, Neenah, New London, Shawano, Waupaca, and Wild Rose. Only siblings of the sick family member, who don’t have cold or flu symptoms may visit the unit. The restriction was a necessity according to ThedaCare’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Jennifer Frank, who stated, “The flu is a serious, contagious respiratory illness that is best avoided by staying away from other sick people.”
