Bob Schuh is a very compelling individual. Despite being blinded in a hunting accident 42 years ago, he continues to do many things that he loves, including hunting and building birdhouses for the Maribel and Francis Creek Sportsman’s Clubs. He makes houses for two particular species of bird.
Bob allowed Seehafer News to take a tour of his workshop, which looks not too dissimilar from any other woodworking shop, save for one major difference. He uses screws to mark where he needs to place the wood for sawing, and jigs to ensure holes are drilled in the proper place. Bob really only has one thing left to worry about.
Bob has been making these houses for quite some time now, reaching a couple huge milestones a few years ago.
While he does all the machining by himself, members of the two sportsman’s clubs come out to his shop and help Bob put them all together. Watching Bob make his way around his shop is nothing short of astonishing, as he is able to tell people exactly where every single item is, from the tools on his desk to his deer antlers mounted on the wall.
