The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign reports the 2018 governor’s race between Republican incumbent Scott Walker and eventual Democratic winner Tony Evers set a new state record. A total of 93-million dollars was spent. Fifty-eight-million was invested in an effort to keep Walker in office, with much of the money coming from outside the state. The Evers side spent about 35-million. The 2018 campaign spending topped the former record by 11-million dollars.
