The establishment of a third-party line of credit means Milwaukee will be ready to go if it is chosen to host the 2020 Democratic National Convention. Representatives were meeting with party leaders in Washington, D-C, Wednesday at the same time Mayor Tom Barrett made the announcement. Wisconsin’s largest city joins Miami Beach and Houston as the three finalists to host the giant event. The line of credit simply assures that taxpayers wouldn’t have to cover any possible deficit spending if the convention comes to “Beer City.”
