Humans will certainly be advised to bundle up from the cold snap at the end of this week, but what about the animals at Manitowoc’s Lincoln Park Zoo? Seehafer News spoke yesterday with Vicky Rathsack, curator of education & special events for the zoo. She said they’re mindful of the animals’ welfare in all weather conditions.
Rathsack said the 92 zoo animals, comprising 55 species, most of which are native to North America are monitored daily.
Dr. Christopher Katz a veterinarian in Two Rivers, lends his services should a problem arise with any of the animals or if zoo staff has any questions. You can tell just by talking with Rathsack that she really loves her work.
The zoo, including the Animal Education building, is open Monday through Saturday between the hours of 7 to 3 o’clock.
