Ever since she was found safe, there has been a discussion about who would receive the $50,000 reward for the safe return of 13-year-old Jayme Closs. The controversy stemmed from the fact that Jayme essentially found herself, which caused many people to say that she should receive the full $50,000, while others say it should go to the woman Jayme approached after escaping the clutches of 21-year-old Jake Paterson. Hormel Foods, the company that owns Jennie-O Turkey Store in Barron where Jayme’s parents worked, has decided that Jayme will receive $25,000 of the reward that they established. Hormel Foods CEO Jim Snee said in a statement, “ Her bravery and strength have truly inspired our team members around the world.” Jayme was able to free herself after spending 88 days confined by Paterson. There has been no word from the FBI about what will happen to the other $25,000.
