Police say the man wanted in connection with a homicide in a Sauk County casino parking lot was arrested early Wednesday morning in Madison. Madison police say 68-year-old Robert M. Pulvermacher was arrested around 1:30 A-M. Police say officers received information that a plow driver saw a person get dropped off at or near Pulvermacher Cartage, a business on Manufacturers Drive, and reported it as suspicious. The man turned out to be Pulvermacher. Pulvermacher was wanted for the fatal stabbing of 88-year-old Harold a. Johnson of Portage. Police say Johnson’s body was found January 14th in his vehicle parked outside the Ho-Chunk Casino and Convention Center on County Road B-D in Sauk County. Investigators say surveillance video from the casino on January 13th, the night before Johnson’s body was found, showed Pulvermacher and Johnson talking together inside the casino and heading out to Johnson’s car and getting into the vehicle. Several minutes later, Pulvermacher exited the car and went back inside the casino alone. Police said Johnson never got out of the car and nobody else entered or exited his car until a security officer opened the door to check on Johnson the next day, discovering his body. Police say Johnson’s daughter told investigators that Pulvermacher owed her father 100 dollars.
