Sixth District U.S. Congressman Glen Grothman recently returned from a personal tour of the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona and Texas. Seehafer News asked him if the crisis is as advertised by President Trump in his efforts to receive $5.7 billion from Congress to build a wall.
Grothman admits he’s concerned that border patrol agents and others aren’t getting paid during the partial federal government shutdown.
The local legislator adds that he’d like more of his fellow Congress members to take a tour just to get the feel for “what life is like there on a daily basis.” The shutdown is now in its fifth week with no end in sight.
