
Water has been shut off to many homes as Manitowoc Public Utilities Water Crews search for a water main break. According to Cindy Carter, the Senior Manager of Business Services at MPU, water has been valved off to homes near the areas of Hazelwood Drive, Madeline Lane, and Irving Circle. Customers have also reported that they have 1-2 feet of standing water in their basements. It is not known how long the water outage will remain in effect. If you are a part of this group, you are encouraged to contact your homeowners insurance provider as well as MPU Customer Service at 920-683-4600.

We have received an update regarding the Water Main breakage in Manitowoc. Cindy Carter, the Senior Manager of Business Services at MPU has told us that the break was found, but 20 homes on Hazelwood Drive, north of Madeline Lane remain without water. These customers have been without water for the past over 8 hours and may have a foot or two of water in their basement. The MPU representative said that these customers were not warned due to the emergent nature of the situation, but all customers are being contacted at this time. If you are affected by the flooding in your basement, MPU is advising that you do NOT walk through the water. Any customer who’s furnace has also gone out should contact their mechanical repair contractor.

Water service has been restored to the impacted residents on Hazelwood Drive.
