Applications are now available for the Manitowoc County Historical Society’s 2019 Apprentice Interpreter program.
Apprentice Interpreters are part of a season-long volunteer program that lets Future Historians take the reins and bring history to life for our visitors. This program is open to any student (homeschool and college included) age 14 and older.
After training in spring (focusing on historic thinking skills, historical content, and interpretation skills), Apprentice Interpreters will work throughout Pinecrest Historical Village as part of our Interpretive Team for school tours, homeschool days, and public programs. In addition to bringing our historic structures to life for our visitors, Apprentice Interpreters will be provided with career development in the form of one-on-one coaching with museum staff, public speaking exposure, and training in historic skills.
Complete program details and the Apprentice Interpreter Application are available at https://www.manitowoccountyhistory.org/apprentice-interpreter-program/. Applications are due to MCHS by Friday, March 29, 2019, at 3 pm.
