Fire Crews Respond to Home on Highway 54 Near West Mason Street

Area Fire Crews responded to a house fire on Highway 54 near Hobart at around 9:30 last night. When they arrived at the home, crews reported that the flames had spread throughout a majority of the home, putting them in defensive mode. It took the firefighters about an hour to completely control the inferno. There weren’t any injuries reported, and no one was inside the residence at the time the fire started. Highway 54 was shut down completely while the battle ensued, but was reopened at around 11:30 PM. A cause has yet to be determined.
