We have continued to cover Silver Lake College of the Holy Family’s Gift of Dreams campaign, which aimed to raise $250,000 to help a multitude of students continue their collegiate dreams. We sat down with the President of the college, Dr. Robert Callahan, who said the campaign was a rousing success.
Dr. Callahan said that thanks to the community, they were actually able to raise $255,000, with every penny going back to the students. The original plan was to help 50 students, but the plan changed after seeing the mass of generosity.
Dr. Callahan then recalled how the students reacted to receiving the well-deserved assistance.
While the campaign was a success, Dr. Callahan says that the college will be focusing on teaching current and future students how to properly budget themselves in order to afford a college education.
