We have received a written statement from The Manitowoc/Two Rivers YMCA regarding the incident last night into this morning, where 8 year old Anthony M. Hauschultz went missing in their facility. Executive Director Julie Grossman told us that they take their responsibility to children and their families very seriously. She went on to explain how the whole situation unfolded. Anthony arrived at the Y with his family at around 7:00 PM for recreational time. After about an hour, Anthony’s parents became concerned when they could not find him. Staff at the Y began to search the building, but when he was not found the police were called. The Manitowoc Police Department and Fire Rescue crews search both inside and out for Anthony, but to no avail. The search continued overnight, with the building only being closed for about an hour when the seach turned toward the surrounding community. When staff arrived at the building early this morning, Anthony was found, and has since been returned to his family. Grossman stated, “We continue to cooperate fully with the Manitowoc Police Department as they manage this case. Our members are like family to us, and our focus remains on supporting them. Those with questions regarding this incident should contact the police directly.”
