A Democratic congressman from Wisconsin was among those refusing to back Nancy Pelosi for House Speaker. Pelosi won the position she previously held from 2007 to 2011 Thursday — but only by four votes. La Crosse congressman Ron Kind was among the 15 Democratic party members who withheld their support. Pelosi managed to secure the votes she needed to edge California congressman Kevin McCarthy. Opponents of the 78-year-old politician said there was a need for younger, fresher leaders.
