We have received more information on the crash that occurred on McArthur Drive yesterday afternoon. Manitowoc Police Captain Jason Frieboth explained what happened.
Frieboth explained that the citizen that helped the driver out did not seem to think that the driver had sustained any injuries.
Those citations include hit and run, driving too fast for conditions, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and operating after suspension. The driver is believed to have fled due to the lack of insurance, and a valid license. He has not been located at this time. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the crash. As for the state of the vehicle…
Captain Frieboth wanted to also point out that due to the construction project on Rapids Road, the area of McArthur drive and South 35th Street has seen a spike in vehicle traffic. He wanted to remind citizens to slow down and be patient.
