Authorities say divers in Racine have removed the body of a 30-year-old woman from a vehicle that drove into Lake Michigan. Police say a 9-1-1 caller reported early Sunday a vehicle had driven into the lake on the North Beach area of Racine and was floating. Law enforcement officers were unable to locate the vehicle. Members of the Racine County Water Rescue team were called in and began searching. Emergency crews say the vehicle was found in about eight feet of water and was being pulled away from shore by the current. Divers were able to enter the vehicle and remove the woman, but she could not be revived. The name of the woman has not been released. Police are investigating the incident.
