Peter Reed of Brillion is one of many members of the FFA who received a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) grant. The SAE grants allow students to apply concepts learned in the classroom to gain real-world knowledge and work experience. It is one of the three components of the state’s agricultural education model, which also includes FFA membership and classroom education. SAE grants are awarded in six categories, including aquaculture, dairy, grain production, livestock, organic agriculture and start-up, which is the category Reed was honored to receive. Start-up SAE Grants were provided by the Andis Foundation, BlueScope Buildings and Sartori Company.
