While people were enjoying a rendition of “The Nutcracker” at the Capitol Civic Center on Saturday, a 34-year-old man decided to steal coats, cell phones, cards, and cash. Police were called to the historic theater just before 6:00 PM on Saturday when people said their coat and belongings were taken during intermission. Police utilized the security camera footage from the venue to witness a man identified as Jesse D. Taylor putting on random coats and checking the pockets. The cellphones were ditched by Taylor, but were found in a garbage can and in a bush outside the Baymont Inn using a tracking app. Taylor has been charged with two counts of petty theft, as the total amount stolen added up to around $1,750.
