Every year as people put up their Christmas lights, a strand or two is found to not be working, or are just plain unneeded. The question always arises, what should people do with those strands of lights? The Manitowoc County Recycling Center is accepting unwanted Christmas lights for FREE. Light strands are highly recyclable, even if the bulbs are still in them. All string lights will be accepted as well as extension cord however garland, wreaths, trees and other lighted decorations will not be accepted. The Recycling Centers Main Office is located at 3000 Basswood Road in Manitowoc, and light strands can be turned in Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
