Cottage Grove Man Arrested For Altercation At UW Hospital

A 59-year-old Cottage Grove man faces charges of resisting an officer and disorderly conduct after an incident at a U-W Hospital parking garage Tuesday.  A passerby called university police about a man’s aggressive actions in the parking ramp.  Ricky L. Smith was apparently angry because the other man had backed into his vehicle.  When a police officer arrived, he reported Smith refused to obey orders until he was subdued with the use of pepper spray.
