Milwaukee officials say their city wants to host the Democratic National Convention next year more than its competitors, Houston and Miami. To the two much-larger cities, they say, it’s just another convention. Milwaukee would be one of the smaller host cities in history, but it has more than seven-thousand hotel rooms within a 15-minute walk of the brand new Fiserv Forum. Other than Chicago, it has been more than 100 years since a national convention was held in the Midwest. The final decision is expected in January.
