Deputy Mayor Gloria Reyes has been appointed to help with the effort to control a crime problem at Madison’s Tree Lane Family Apartments. Madison police have been called to the building more than 200 times since it was opened five months ago. Some people living nearby say all the criminal activity at the location for formerly homeless families has them fearing for their lives. Reyes is to collect information, give advice to the owners and share her insights with the mayor and city council members.
