On November 17th, Daryl Stuermer, award winning guitarist of Genesis and Phil Collins, will join forces with Manitowoc’s Symphony Orchestra in what promises to be a phenomenal and unique concert experience at the Capitol Civic Center. When Genesis lead singer Phil Collins decided to pursue a solo career, Stuermer became an integral member of the Collins’ solo band, adding his unique guitar sounds to hits like “In the Air Tonight” and “Easy Lover.” Since then, Stuermer has written nine solo albums, in addition to launching his own independent record label. Daryl has performed at the SuperBowl, Academy Awards, Oscars, MTV Awards, VH-1 Rock Awards and the “You’ll Be in My Heart” Tarzan World-Wide Premier Tour. Peggy Pitz, Executive Director with the MSO, shared her enthusiasm for the pop concert, noting, “It is exciting for our MSO musicians to have the opportunity to play with world-renowned guitarist Daryl Stuermer as well as perform his music. I have always enjoyed the music of Phil Collins and Genesis and by bringing Daryl to Manitowoc, I and I know others will appreciate the chance to reminisce about songs and tunes from times gone by.” Stuermer will focus on Genesis music for the Manitowoc concert, though is adding his own unique spin to the classics. He will also share a few songs that he orchestrated himself. The Capital Civic Center is hosting a special VIP concert experience for this show, which includes a intimate setting to meet Daryl before the show, preferred seating in first 3 rows, an autographed CD, a Photo Op, and a drink ticket. A very limited amount of these meet and greet tickets are available for $65. General admission tickets are available for $40, and students may purchase a ticket for $25. Tickets are available to purchase online at www.manitowocsymphony.org or by calling The Capitol Civic Centre box office at 920-683-2184.
