D’Mtrik Trice scored 21 points and pre-season All-American Ethan Happ added a triple-double as the Wisconsin Badgers coasted past Coppin State Tuesday night 85-63. The game at the Kohl Center in Madison was the season opener for both teams. A 20-2 run by Wisconsin put the game out of reach midway through the first half. Happ scored 10 points, passed out 12 assists and grabbed 11 rebounds for just the second triple-double in U-W history. Happ almost missed the historic mark, according to coach Greg Gard.
The Coach also says that no one has put in more time to get better Ethan.
Trice hit five-of-nine 3-pointers scoring 21 points. Trice spoke about his comeback from season ending surgery last December.
Wisconsin is idle until next Tuesday when it plays Xavier at the Gavitt Tipoff Games in Cincinnati.
