The Kids from Wisconsin (KIDS) will perform in their 51st season with Wisconsin Lutheran College as their new presenting sponsor.
The KIDS travel over 6000 miles each summer, providing performing arts workshops and their iconic, Broadway style show to more than 120,000 people in over 35 communities across the state.
“We are excited to be the presenting sponsor of the Kids from Wisconsin. We share similar missions of providing personal growth, life-changing experiences, and mentorship to the young men and women of today who will become our inspiring leaders of tomorrow,” stated Dr. Daniel Johnson, president of Wisconsin Lutheran College
The Kids from Wisconsin show troupe is a Wisconsin tradition formed in 1969 as part of the Wisconsin State Fair. In 1982 the organization became an independent, non-profit, charitable arts organization, supported through performance fees along with individual and corporate contributions. The Wisconsin State Fair held the Presenting Sponsorship for 50 years. However, in late 2017 the Fair informed the KIDS organization they will no longer continue to sponsor, but will continue to host performances at the Fair.
“We were of course disappointed and saddened by the Fair’s decision, but the KIDS board felt positive that our unique program would be a great fit for just the right presenting sponsor. And, now we are delighted and honored to partner with WLC in a shared mission. They provide the world-class facilities to help us prepare and present our performing season” said Tina Weiss, Executive Director of the Kids from Wisconsin.
The KIDS will continue to provide great entertainment at the Wisconsin State Fair from August 2-11, twice a day at the Associated Bank Amphitheater.
The performance schedule is near complete and posted on the KIDS website.
