The Milwaukee Bucks built a 20-point lead, then had to fight off a charge by the Charlotte Hornets to win the N-B-A season opener for both teams, 113-112. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 25 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and passed out eight assists in the Wednesday victory. Point guard Kemba Walker did most of the damage for Charlotte with 41 points. The Hornets actually led with 36 seconds left. New Bucks Coach Mike Budenholzer commented on the opening day win.
He also said he is proud of his team finding a way to win down the stretch.
Giannis got into foul trouble early, a fact not lost on the Bucks Coach.
Milwaukee returns home to the Fiserv Arena to host Indiana in a home opener Friday night.
