The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) announced today that the 5th Annual Toast to Life to Benefit ALS Research on October 11, 2018 raised more than $100,000 to help free kids and adults from the harm of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related life-threatening diseases that severely weaken muscle strength and mobility.
More than 250 Appleton business, community and civic leaders attended the high- energy event at Kolosso Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram. Guests enjoyed a night complete with silent auctions, great food and live entertainment, all while raising critical funds and awareness to find urgently needed treatments and cures for families in the Fox Valley affected by muscle- debilitating diseases.
“The Toast to Life Gala is always a unique event that showcases the strength of the Appleton community and those who work so hard to create a world free from the harmfuleffects of this devastating disease,” said MDA Executive Director, Murphy Maes. “It is withcollective strength of our Toast to Life participates and guests that we are able to serve ALS families today by providing them with support services, resources and guidance so they are able to maintain their independence and live the best lives possible.”

Since 2014, Toast to Life has raised more than $320,000 to support more than 60 individuals and families throughout Northeast Wisconsin with life-enhancing resources and services that open new possibilities and maximize independence so they can experience the world without any limits.
Contributions also help MDA’s efforts to fund groundbreaking research and programs support groups and more than 150 MDA Care Centers across the country, including the MDA Care Center at Prevea Health in Green Bay, Wisconsin and Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
