Milwaukee demonstrators blocked doors and took over the drive-thru area of a McDonald’s restaurant Wednesday, then took to the streets, eventually blocking traffic on Interstate 43. Police say about 23 of the 100 demonstrators were arrested. They were part of a national movement pushing for a 15-dollar-an-hour minimum wage for fast food, child care, and other workers. Protesters who refused to get out of the road were taken into custody. The Milwaukee restaurant where the activity took place is on the city’s north side.
