Just days before a Milwaukee man was supposed to go on trial for killing a teenager, his case was put on hold and he was released on a signature bond. Murder suspect Michael Spears reportedly has congestive heart failure. His condition has kept him from attending court hearings. Spears is accused of shooting 18-year-old Kole Jopek to death last January during a drug deal. Jopek’s father is angry that Spears is free. James Jopek says he wants justice for his son. Milwaukee County’s chief judge calls it a highly-unusual case.
