Valders and Plymouth were team champions yesterday at the Kiel Cross Country Invitational. The Viking boys defeated 21 other teams with a low score of 47 compared to the host Raiders 123. Nate Griepentrog placed 2nd in a photo-style finish with a Gibraltar runner at 16:59. The freshman duo of Clay Taylor and Shane Griepentrog were 4th & 6th, respectively. Two Rivers was 7th, Manitowoc Lutheran 8th and Roncalli 10th. In the Girls race: the Two Rivers Raiders wind up 3rd, Kiel was 4th and Lutheran ‘10th. Anna Gallagher led TR with a 2nd place finish on the 2.5 mile course. Valders was 6th and its’ top runner was Taylor Zucchi at #16.
In FRCC Girls Tennis it was a good day for the Lincoln Ships. They shutout Green Bay Preble 7-0 in the conference opener. The Ships are 5-&-3 overall.
In Boys Soccer, Manitowoc Lincoln & Appleton East fought to a 1 all tie in Appleton last night. Zack Goetz scored an unassisted goal for the Ships at the 55-minute mark..to tie it. Garrett Hammill had 9-saves. Lincoln (now 3-1-and-1) returns to the astroturf at Rubick Field next Thursday night at 6:30 for a conference matchup with Ashwaubenon.
