Madison police say it was a scam. Twenty-three-year-old Tony V. Fountain is accused of renting the same downtown parking spot at least 12 times. The problem is — he didn’t own it. Fountain was arrested last week. One woman says she gave him 400-dollars for one year’s rent at Hawthorne Court last week. The owner of the parking space says he doesn’t know Fountain. The suspect allegedly made contact with his victims through a Facebook group page where U-W students can find apartments, parking spots, and other items for sale or rent.
