The Town of Rock has appointed five members to an Ad Hoc committee to study plans for an industrial sand mine. A La Crosse company, Coulee Frac Sand, wants to build the sand fracking mine southwest of Marshfield. The plans call for a 100-acre development in Wood County. The company would extract, process, store and truck industrial sand to a processing facility called Carbo Ceramics in Marshfield. The information gathered by the committee will be presented to the zoning committee at a future date.
