The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is taking exception to comments made by national broadcasters during last week’s Green Bay Packers exhibition game. In extolling the talent of rookie wide receiver Jake Kumerow, the play-by-play team described his alma mater as a “nowhere school.” Chancellor Beverly Kopper wrote a letter informing the broadcasters her institution is a “premiere, public university that for 150 years has been inspiring, engaging and transforming lives.” Kumerow caught a T-D pass against the Tennessee Titans. He was also a big factor as the Warhawks won back-to-back national championships while he was in school.
